Exciting news fans......This weekend Battle at the Center in DuQuion, IL will be on the Speed Channel on Saturday at 6:30pm. David won his heat and finished 8th in the feature. Also Sunday May 29th in Sun Prairie, WI David will race the #6 A&G Motorsports midget. Come out and see the first BMARA race of the year. Stop by the pits after the race and say hi!!

David Budres Hosting "Best Pink Midget Race Car" Coloring Contest

Racing 2 Cure began as a simple act of then 7-year old Hunter Stewart. Hunter was just starting his off-road career when he received troubling news. Just a few weeks before his first-ever race, his mom at just 34-years old, was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. In order to maintain a positive focus, the family decided to continue racing. After attending an event held by Susan G. Komen, Hunter was inspired and took action. He carried the Susan G. Komen logo on his race truck, wore pink shoe laces, and gave one-week's worth of his allowance for every race lap he completed.

This one-race effort inspired others to take action. Hunter's story was largely covered by the media and recognized by public officials, including a guest appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show. After several treatments Hunter's Mom (Alycia) is now in remission. Alycia's cancer has taught the Stewart family the first hand affects of cancer and to "take life one lap at a time." The family now dedicates their life's work to helping others through the Racing 2 Cure Non-Profit Organization.

And 100% of all raffled items will go to the Racing 2 Cure. Not only will David Budres being raising money for Racing to Cure during the months of September and October, he will also be doing fundraising throughout his entire 2011 race season at all 48 races.

David Budres and the Manic Racing team are hosting the children's coloring contest "The Best Pink Midget Race Car" to benefit Racing 2 Cure (R2C), a non-profit organization that helps families affected by cancer. The coloring contest will run from March 26th, 2011to June 19th, 2011 and is open to children up to the age of 16. Driver David Budres and the Manic Racing team, along with the Stewart family, founders of Racing 2 Cure will choose the winning child's design for the paint scheme for the Pink Midget race car, which will run races in September and October and will raise money for Racing 2 Cure. The winning child's design will also be featured on the David Budres autograph cards, as well as any merchandise that is sold to benefit Racing 2 Cure.

David Budres and the Manic Racing team will be hosting a coloring day event at area children's hospitals. This event will feature David coloring with the children and their families, signing autographs, and taking photos with the children. David will also be making a donation of crayon, colored pencils, markers, and other art supplies to the hospitals. David Budres is set to host his first event Thursday April 7th, 2011 from 10am to 12pm at the University of Wisconsin Children's Specialities Clinic in Madison, Wisconsin. David is also setting dates for other events at other area children's hospitals.

The pink #31 Stealth Midget's paint design will also be based off of the winning child's design, along with any pink merchandise that will be sold in fundraising.

Shuman WINS the Battle

DuQuoin, IL, Dec. 18---Casey Shuman scored a wire-to-wire victory Saturday Night winning the "Battle at the Center" POWRi presented by Speedway Motors National Midget Series feature at the Southern Illinois Center.

Shuman jumped into the lead at the start followed by Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Daryn Pittman. Three cautions during the first four laps slowed the racing action. Once underway Shuman held a two-car length over Stenhouse and the tightly bunched field. Shuman caught the tail of the field on Lap 18, and four laps later lapped the first car. Two laps later, two cars stopped causing a caution, moving the leaders out of lapped traffic.

Shuman again was flawless on the restart and continued his advantage over Stenhouse, Pittman, Dave Darland and A.J. Fike. Shuman was again reaching the tail of the field to again begin the lapping process, when Caleb Armstrong spun on Lap 34. The top five appeared headed for the finish without change, when with four laps remaining Pittman's day ended with mechanical problems, stalling on the track, brining out the caution.

Stenhouse tried to pass Shuman over the final four laps several times, but fell two-car lengths short at the finish. Shuman driving the Loyet Motorsports owned Spike/Ford-Esslinger No. 05x collected $6,000 for the victory his second straight at the track. "The cautions came out perfect for me they were an important key to the victory, this is a great tune-up for the upcoming Chili Bowl" commented Shuman after the victory.

Stenhouse, Darland, Fike, and Brad Kuhn completed the top five, as seventeen drivers finished the feature. Earlier in the night, eight heat races and four qualifying races narrowed the field of 55 cars to the starting field of twenty-one.

Budres Prepares for Third Chili Bowl

Beloit, WI – January 2, 2010 – Starting the new year with one of midget racing's most exciting events, David Budres will be in competition in his third Chili Bowl Midget Nationals in Tulsa, Oklahoma, January 12th through 16th, 2010. This will be his first race in the A&G Motorsports number 16 alongside teammate David Gough. With support from Manic Racing and rock band Snowsera, Budres will be qualifying on Friday night, focused on positioning himself well for Saturday's main event. High Expectations for Budres, No. 31 Heading Into Sunday

(Beloit, Wis.) June 16, 2009- A new season, new motor and new-found confidence have boosted Beloit, Wis. native David Budres into the spotlight. Racing the complete schedule this year in the Badger Midget Series, Budres has taken the previous two years of experience in the BMARA and mixed it with new equipment to create a winning combination.

Confidence is a huge deciding factor in the success of any racecar driver. Since the season-opener at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis., Budres has shown noticeable improvement over the previous years and has proven he and his No. 31 machine are capable of running with the lead pack.

"In order to run up front, you need to have confidence in yourself and your car to hold it wide open and run with the leaders," said Budres. "This year I know I'm capable of running with everyone and I want to prove that I can."

The fourth race of the season at Angell Park brought an 8^th place qualifying run and finish in the A- main feature for Budres, which was just the start of an upswing in performance. The very next week marked David's first career heat race victory, followed by a strong run before a part failure ended his night prematurely.

Another heat race victory came last Sunday, and Budres was on his way to a sure top-three finish in the A-main. After leading the field at the start and running third with less than five to go, Budres was slowed by some lapped traffic and took a hit from behind, settling for an eighth place finish.

Though the No. 31 had a seemingly strong motor throughout the weekend, the Manic Racing team found an internal problem upon post-race teardown inspection on Monday. The team hopes to fix the problem and be ready to go for this Sunday, but the status of the car is still uncertain. Budres is hoping to get the car back on track to continue and improve on his current success with his confidence at an all-time high. Updates on the car will be posted on davidbudres.com.

8th at Wilot

We finished 8th last night at Wilmot Raceway. Qualified 8th out of 17 cars at the track, ran 6th in our heat and won the semi-feature. After a slow start from our 3rd spot on the grid settled in 8th spot and stayed there. Brad Loyet won with point leader Scott Hatton finishing second. We are off to the Prairie soon, hope to see you there!!

Off to the Chili Bowl!!

Well, we are off to the Chili Bowl tomorrow morning. We will be pitting with Chuck Johnson's 82 car which will be driven by Badger champ Mike Hess. Lot's of thanks goes out to those guys for helping us get down there. We will be practicing all day Monday, then prepping the car all week for Friday nights prelims. Wish us luck, and hopefully we will have some updates from Tulsa.

David wins Grundy County Speedway Night of Features!!

Morris, IL (08/31/08) David Budres drove his way into the record book as the 9th Illini Racing Series driver to win the Task Management Night of Features in front of a packed grandstand at the Grundy County Speedway. The Beloit, WI driver had the fans on his side after his come from behind heat race win, making his victory lane appearance very popular with the crowd.

In only his second night in the Fred Teer #54, Budres seemed to be getting comfortable in the car until the white flag flew in his heat and he did an unassisted spin in turn two. Restarting at the tail end of the field for the green-white-checker finish, the crowd cheered louder with every car he passed. As he made his move past the lead car of Scott Dunning in turn four of the final lap, thousands of fans stood to roar their approval.

Sean Murphy, coming off a late model win the night before, ran away with his heat over Loran Critchett and Allen Gillis.

After the four wide salute to the fans, the feature race was a dandy. Doug Orseske took them three wide into turn two on the opening lap. Orseske had moved into third in points after his qualifying effort, but had dropped back to fourth after his heat. Only 40 points separated 2nd and 4th so it would come down to this last feature event of the year to settle who would be runner-up behind 2008 champion Joe Knippel, who had clinched the title the previous night at Hawkeye Downs in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Knippel, using Budres' regular ride, used up a right rear dirt tracking the 1/3 mile paved track lap after lap, never giving Budres a chance to catch his breath until lap 14 when Murphy kissed the front stretch wall. Murphy was uninjured. Knippel's ride started to overheat under the caution, forcing him to the infield pit area.

Gillis would challenge Budres for the remaining 11 laps, but when Danny Carter's twin checkers fell, it would be Budres by a car length. Loran Critchett finished third to keep Orseske one position behind him, in the race and the year-end points.

Budres to drive the Teer Racing #54

Beloit WI__ This weekend the Illini racing series heads to Hawkeye Downs Raceway in Cedar Rapids IA for the first of a double header weekend. After Hawkeye Downs the Illini teams will head east on Interstate 80 towards the Grundy County Speedway for the Night of Features. On both of these nights David will be behind the wheel of Fred Teer's Volkswagon powered beast #54. David is excited about working with the Teer racing team and hopes to have a successful weekend.
